| About
Us
HelpLine is a Connecticut based fundraising organization with
over 20 years of experience. Our clients include many Jaycee
Chapters, The Shriners and Lions Clubs. Most of these organizations
have retained our services for many years, a testament not
only to our results-oriented team of dedicated workers, but
also to our commitment to protecting and preserving the integrity
of the name, image and reputation of the groups we represent.
We
feel we can be a valuable asset to your organization due to
the strength of our donor list, along with our local area
office, staffed with community members. We presently have
over 75,000 names of active Connecticut donors who have consistently
contributed to need-based causes. This donor database can
provide your organization with a whole new avenue of on-going
financial support.
Methodology
The following represents a brief description of our overall
methodology.
(per client, other approaches can be utilized)
Utilizing a telemarketing and follow-up direct mail approach,
we are able to achieve not only fundraising, but also program-identification
and image enhancement goals. Potential contributors are contacted
by phone from our office in Milford. A mutally-agreed upon
script is developed, with particular focus on the specific
purpose and goals of the sponsoring organization. With each
call, we identify ourselves as working for The HelpLine, representing
the specific sponsoring organization. We then give a brief
summary of the organization outlining its particular objectives
and goals. After the donor agrees to make a contribution,
a pledge invoice is sent through the mail with a return addressed
envelope for the donor's convenience. We can also send membership
forms to all donors, and many groups have been able to increase
membership by this use.
There
is generally a children's show at the end of the campaign.
Donors of $15.00 or more are given complimentary tickets.
In addition, the less fortunate children and their families
from the area are invited to attend the show free of charge.
All tickets are distributed from our office to area group
homes and local agencies.
A
two-signature checking account (a sponsor representative and
a HelpLine representative) is opened. All donations received
are deposited into this account by our staff. The money is
divided according to the contract specifications, usually
on a weekly basis. We will provide a full accounting of all
funds pledged and collected along with copies of all bank
deposit slips. At this time you will be given a check for
your agreed-upon percentage of the gross proceeds. All expenses
relative to the fundraising drive are paid by the HelpLine.
Rates
Division of proceeds is determined on a case-by-case basis.
Licensing Requirements
HelpLine is registered and bonded as per the guidelines of
The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Public Charities
Unit and the Office of the Attorney General, and strickly
abides by all state laws regarding public solicitations for
funds.
